Brian Callender is a recipient of the Faculty Research Grant for 2019-21. Dr. Callender is interested in clinical education, global health education, clinical ethics, the patient experience, and the use of graphic narrative in medicine. More specifically, he isinterested in how graphic medicine portrays the experience of illness and how comics, as a mediumand practice, can be used for self-discovery and personal knowledge formation about illness and health.
