As a result of ongoing concerns about COVID-19, SIFK has made the difficult decision to reschedule our conference, "Future of the Human: A Conference on Genetic Medicine & Eugenics," for late summer 2021. We were hoping that the conference would not be impacted by the virus, but the health and safety of our participants and community are our paramount concern. We will be working to keep you updated as we finalize the details.
Poignantly, the new timing of the event will mark 100 years since the second International Eugenics Congress was convened at New York’s American Museum of Natural History, 22-28 September 1921. In the summer of 2021 we may well stand at a similar crossroads to the one faced a century before. It is our ambition that the conversation we are fostering between scientists, ethicists, and others, will help in leading the way to a vastly different outcome than in the mid-20th century.
We invite everyone to keep the conversation on the "Future of the Human" alive! If you have any thoughts or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to SIFK via email. You can also sign up for our mailing list and follow us on social media to get our latest updates in real-time.
